Public meeting: find out more about the UKCMRI plan and how you can have your say
SPA is holding a public meeting on Monday October 4, 7-9pm at Somers Town Community Centre, Ossulston St, NW1 1EE.
Members of SPA will put their case against the development.
We have invited representatives of UKCMRI and Camden Council to speak, and there will be questions from the floor.
If you want to offer your response to the plans, write to Neil McDonald, Customer Support Team, Planning and Public Protection, 5th Floor, Camden Council Town Hall Extension, Argyle Street, WC1H 8EQ.
You can also see the plans and respond online.
Certain reasons will be taken into account, e.g. size/style of building, inappropriateness for area, loss of land use for housing/public amenities, congestion, pollution
Responses must be with the Council by October 13.
SPA believes that the proposed UKCMRI will:
. use precious land that Camden Council had zoned for housing and amenities
. dwarf surrounding buildings with massive over development
. introduce unnecessary risk, the most vulnerable being children and the elderly
. cost £600 million while public services are slashed
